A sailboat is like a small version of our planet: limited space, shared resources, and a direct dependence on nature. Out here, the often-used word sustainability stops being an ideal and becomes a way of life — and there is hardly a better way to understand it than through practice.
Imagine living for a few weeks on a sailboat — surrounded by nature, far away from everyday routines. Not a classroom, not a conference room, but a floating laboratory for sustainability and personal development.

🌱 Sustainable living – without giving up quality of life
On board, you learn to use water, food, energy, and resources in a conscious way. And you quickly discover:
👉 A sustainable lifestyle isn’t about giving something up — it’s about freedom and awareness.
🌍 Meet local communities
Instead of only seeing news headlines about war or disaster, you meet people in small coastal communities in their everyday lives. Encounters like these build understanding of other cultures — a solid foundation for an open and democratic society.

🗣 Out of the echo chamber
Climate change, conflicts, the gap between rich and poor: News and websites shape our opinions, and it’s easy to be swayed in one direction or another. Evenings at the anchorage are filled with lively discussions and fresh perspectives. Different opinions are welcome because we believe that diversity is the way forward.
🐠 Experience the sea for real
Yes, the oceans are under pressure. But it’s not all bleak! You’ll see both damaged and intact ecosystems, as well as successful marine conservation projects. It gives a realistic — and motivating — perspective on the future.

Who are we?
We are Amanda-Sailing, a Norwegian project dedicated to inspiring young adults through adventure, sustainability, and cultural exchange. On board and in immersive workshops on land, we create hands-on experiences where participants learn to live consciously, collaborate, and engage with the world around them. Our goal is to empower the next generation with the skills, awareness, and confidence to navigate a sustainable future — all while having an unforgettable journey along the way.
The project lies under Wicked Horizon, a committed team of sailors, academics, consultants and explorers. From their international engagements they have become partner for schools, NGOs and research institutions.
